ST Math is a flexible instructional tool that can fit easily into many different curriculum implementations. In a computer lab, during designated classroom time, station-rotation, or at home - as long as students are using ST Math for minutes per week, you will see gains in their math achievement. Schools can design rich, blended learning experiences that leverage the individualized visual software in a variety of ways.
Objectives can easily be aligned to match classroom pacing and to differentiate what students play at home and at school. Teachers have access to all of the visual models within ST Math to supplement classroom lessons for preview or review of math standards. ST Math Chats are minute lessons that utilize or technology to create an interactive learning and sharing experience. Teachers can easily launch the lessons directly from their ST Math console and jump into a guided experience that uses the visual models and manipulatives of ST Math puzzles to spark rich math discussion.
Students begin by problem solving on their own, and transition to exploring puzzles as a class. Each lesson provides opportunities for whole class, small group, and partner discussion.

What is ST Math?Join us for Global Math Week by devoting one or more days of math instruction this week to trying a new approach to math, either from the games on this page or other options on the Global Math Project website.
Students are introduced to counting and numbers by choosing the number of circles blocking JiJi, the penguin, from crossing the path. Puzzles begin with all visual questions that require students to use correspondence to match the quantity given. As the puzzles transition, students have to represent numerals with the corresponding quantity of circles.
As the puzzles transition, students solve multi-step puzzles to determine the height JiJi will end up at. Help JiJi, the penguin, walk across the road! Students attend to the attributes of two-dimensional shapes and develop a strategy to eliminate shapes that do not match and identify the shape that does. As the puzzles transition, more shapes are given and eventually shape names provide students with an opportunity to use language labels to describe given shapes.
Students are introduced to the concept of addition from 1 to 10 by selecting the number of blocks needed to get JiJi, the penguin, to the height of the platform. By visually introducing addition as stacking blocks and subtraction as holes in the ground, students see how addition and subtraction are the inverse of each other. This task specifically targets students' spatial temporal reasoning ability as they manipulate 3D JiJi into an upright position.

Upright JiJi develops pre-algebraic thinking and reasoning, as students select the correct set of operators to transform the input into the output.
Students develop their understanding of equal groups multiplication, through 40, by selecting the number of shoes required by the group of animals. In later levels, the game uses the same model to represent division and multi-step problem situations, building a robust and interconnected schema. Drag blocks onto creatures in order to divide a set of blocks into equal piles.
Through this task, students model the task of "fair sharing" division. Students will slowly transition to answering "fair sharing" questions up to 40 in a more symbolic representation, building their division schema on a conceptual foundation.
In this creative model, students estimate how far a set of fraction wedges will roll JiJi onto the number line. As the level progresses, students must weigh how the impact of unit-fractions, fraction addition, and subtraction will alter the solution.
Students use visual models to build their understanding of measurements of capacity. As they play through the puzzles students experience problems requiring them to convert between cups, pints, quarts and gallons. Volume fill builds students conceptual understanding of volume as not just a formula to be memorized, but a measure of a finite amount of 3D space. As the levels progress, the shapes become irregular - further challenging students and deepening understanding.
Solve 1-step and 2-step linear equations visually. Given a set of inputs and operators, select the proper outputs that will be applied. As students progress, they will have to define the linear equation that fits a table of inputs and outputs.

I highly recommend it for the lower elementary grades. My son and I will start a new concept sitting side by side.
Then I'll encourage him to try the next few levels on his own and 'teach' me what he learned. It takes the pressure off me and lets me focus on facilitating more in-depth learning. And it's fun! Schools can now access their ST Math student accounts with an iPad. As always, make sure students log out all the way before exiting. Fixed issue where roster provisioned students manually transferred to a different group would be automatically returned to their original groups. I absolutely love this education app. I am a kid myself and I really love how this app in the beginning helps you memorize your password.
There was also this one time where I was stuck on this one problem and yet, I kept trying because I knew I could solve it. This educational app has taught me so many things throughout months. I have had faith in this educational app, hoping that I could pass the problem I was stuck on and I did! This app has also taught me about area and perimeters. I have realized that you multiply 2 numbers that are completely different from each other for area and you just add up all the measurements for the perimeter.
Yes, this game is a bit slow on computer, but way faster on IPad! This is why I love this app so much. This is just my honest opinion, you could have something way different from mine.
And the third thing is that you can't reach sometimes a lot of levels you can't because of how hard it is, like when teachers want to check your percentage and then they say: why are you still in the same level? And I'm always saying obviously if it wasn't that hard they would have probably past the stupid freaking level! Anyway and also you don't even get chances to do correcting your work and just gives you two chances like literally Ok, honestly I would have rated this 5 stars, but I had a couple issues.
First of all, I believe you should give a demo lesson for ALL lessons, even though you provide demos for most. The levels with demos I mostly understand, but the ones without demos are difficult for me.
Second, you should be able to access ST Math on you iPad like you do a computer. Because of this you are likely to forget what your password was. Please improve on what I have addressed, because you are capable, if you were able to create an app like this.
