Thread starter avalanche07 Start date Apr 24, I have and 03 busa that will not start. After reading different post I have charged my battery overnight and still the same thing. After turning on the ignition switch I don't hear the fuel pump prime.
I pulled the tank off again and this time I take the fump pump off. Pump looks fine. I have also noticed that the fuel gauge isn't reading correctly. Check list things I've done the clutch switch, the tip over sensor, checked fuses, charge battery w slow charger and tried to jump it w car battery motor off Any other suggestions would help! TruWrecks Banned. How about the cut-off switch in the right side handlebar?
Just being thorough. Yea forgot to mention that, but yea thats checked off the list too! If the pump turns out bad I have my lightly used one I can sell out of my I'll have to wait til am to get to my local parts house.
I keep you posts though! No I dont have an alarm hooked up. I was able to get the error code by setting it to "dealer mode". None of the local parts houses keep these so I have to order from dealer but question, there is another relay located near the fuse box that I swapped because its the same raly, and still got the FI error.Forums New posts.

Busabim Registered. Greetings, I added a second low pressure fuel pump to the 99 Hayabusa. I have the low pressure pump feeding the primary external fuel pump and any extra fuel goes back to the return tank. There should be no more vapour lock and the fuel pump will always be bathed in fuel now and not have to rely on the inefficient gravity feed to work. You can see the top of the low pressure pump feeding directly into the main external fuel assembly: Secondary pumps are common on boats and are designed to run continuously.
Now I have 2 pumps and 2 filters. The pump and filter fit under the tank with no issue and the pump is mounted to the screw that holds the wiring harness clamp. I bought the pump off eboy. Please see photos to show routing. The fuel filter is elbowed off at 90 degrees and sits upright the same as the pump to allow for easy exchange and for clearance below the tank.
The second picture shows most of the fittings. This is a much more cost effective solution than replacing tanks. Note the filter is facing up parallel to the low pressure pump and is easily removed. If the filter is left on top of the pump as sold it might be too tall when the tank goes back on top.
So far the bike has not failed to restart once when very hot! Busarider Registered. Hey Busabim, how is the new pump running? For all of those people who feel they have to swap out to an intank fuel pump for reliability, I believe it is a lot of unnecessary work.
I have been in very hot weather and in traffic and no stalling out any more when hot. The pump is from Eboy, I will be ordering a spare as back up for the future since they are so cheap. Also, I intend to replace the secondary fuel filter every year so I never have to deal with the external fuel pump filters again hopefully.
I upgraded the original pump last year to the pump from hamilton motorsports on eboy and cleaned both the pump housing filter and the other fuel filter inside fuel housing was also clean. The power went to a fuse in the ignition an the other to the initial fuel pump negative power I think but any good ground will do.

Fuel Filter change
I'm looking to upgrade my system with an after market fuel system. Here is the tricky part! I will be upgrading to a RCC stage 1 or 2 in the future and only want to buy 1 pump, so when i get the turbo i wont have to buy another fuel pump.
I would like to get a pump that draws the least amount of amps and still can flow enough for the stage 1 or 2 turbo. Which one of these pumps would be best if i was not going to upgrade to the turbo. Tank to Fuel Filter to fuel Pump to Regulator from regulator to tank from regulator to fuel rails.
Is there that much of a fluctuation or inconsistency to be worried about with only HP? Please feel free to chime in if you have any knowledge or experience on the above. Cheap isn't the best approach. The aero pump pulls alot of amps and is more race oriented.
I prefer stand alone wiring for the fuel system with it's own dedicated relay, wiring, and fuse. I would personaly suggest running the bosch pump with a turbo system or the walbro pump. Some have also had good success with the accel pump too. As for the fuel system, a dead headed system isn't the best approach.
